What They Say

Dear Industry Member:

I am proud to say the word on the street is that Floridians in the film, entertainment and digital media industries are getting back to work. But let’s not forget the reason why: a group of dedicated individuals united together and sent a message to our State leaders that we were ready willing and able to help create jobs and jump start our economy.

As a result our legislature passed a historic piece of legislation that has become the catalyst to place Florida back on the map as a destination for film production, television series production, commercials, independent films and digital media projects. The question now becomes whether we want this opportunity to last for the generations to come or will we take it for granted, sit back and watch all of our hard work and efforts go down the drain. (Don't forget, It has happened before).

So once again, I would like all of you, who have been impacted by our accomplishments over the past several years, to get in the game and join me in our efforts in Tallahassee to keep this positive momentum going. The 2011 legislative session is now upon us and our State is once again experiencing a difficult economic time. Therefore, it will take more of us than ever before to educate our newly elected officials and staff on the benefits of our industry and the success that we have achieved in such a short period of time.

I am asking all of you to come together and reach out for your elected Representatives and Senators in your district. Tell them about all of our accomplishments. Share with them the many wonderful stories about the homes that were saved and of the families that were able to stay together, all because they and their predecessors made a decision to incentivize an industry that has lived up to its promise to maintain and create jobs for Floridians right here in Florida.

CONTRIBUTE TO FAME and become an active member of the organization that continues to protect your future. Be sure to ask about our information fact sheets and to find out how you can participate in our rally in Tally on April 5th. We are all counting on you.

Sincerely,
Dave Caserta
